LIST: 148 Countries Open for Filipino Tourists (2023 Tips & Requirements for Travel During COVID-19 — UPDATED Regularly)

Travel is back — or at least, for the most part — and with restrictions, of course. But if you’re fully vaccinated, you’re pretty much set with NO set requirements for quarantine NOR a negative COVID-19 test result.

I’m sure a lot of you who are comfortable with the risks and ready to adhere to safety protocols are itching to start traveling again; so I’m sure you are wondering about the list of countries who accept tourists i.e. “non-essential travelers”.

To date, there are a number of countries all over the world that have started to reopen their borders (if not planning for it) after more than months of lockdowns because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of June 2022, there are about 148 countries open for Filipino tourists or travelers and I have collected relevant information about each of them: from RT-PCR tests and quarantine protocols to COVID-19 insurance requirements and vaccinations!

NOTE: As the title implies, I will ONLY cover countries that accept Philippine TOURISTS; so even if some countriesare open for Filipinos, given that they will only accept those who are coming in for essential travel (e.g. returning resident, work visa, etc.), then naturally I will not list them.

Rest assured, I will be UPDATING this list of countries open for Filipino tourists as necessary whenever I get hold of new updates. Feel free to leave a comment below as well in case there are some information here that need to be added or updated.

Still an the same, it is your responsibility to recheck the information that I have shared here before booking your flights because some of it may have changed due to the ever-changing developments/changes of the COVID-19 situation in every country.

Rules When Departing from the Philippines

To date, there are no strict rules when leaving the country, given that every Filipino is now eligible for international travel. However, it is your responsibility to check that all required travel and health documents (including COVID-19 testing if necessary) are at your disposal for the country(ies) that you are departing to. Most of the time though, travel insurance that covers COVID-19 is required and I recommend purchasing them either through SafetyWing or HeyMondo (if you click my link, you get 5% off!).

As a start, I have compiled the requirements for the countries open for Filipino tourists below to help keep you informed.

When it comes to showing your proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, you may:

• Request for an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) from the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ). To book an appointment, go to www.icv.boq.ph. For more information, contact the BOQ hotline: (632) 5318-7500 loc. 121.
  • Request for ICV is not mandatory, as this is not a requirement for all travelers. Fee for requesting this is about Php370.
  • Currently, only those who were “fully vaccinated” in the Philippines can be issued an ICV. If you were vaccinated abroad, just show the corresponding proof of vaccination (e.g. a World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, a CDC vaccination card from the USA, etc.)
• Request for digital proof of vaccination from the VaxCertPH portal.
  • Fully vaccinated travelers may generate their own vaccination certificate by logging on to https://vaxcert.doh.gov.ph/.
  • Only individuals who got their COVID-19 vaccination in Metro Manila and Baguio, and traveling outside the Philippines may use this online facility.
