My name is Aileen. At 21, I quit my corporate job in the Philippines to travel the world. Today, I am a digital nomad (entrepreneur & travel writer) living a sustainable travel lifestyle. Apart from exploring the globe and working on my business, I am also handing this travel blog in my free time. On this website, I aim to… (iAmAileen)
- Show that a life of travel is NOT only for the rich and that it is absolutely possible to explore the globe in a sustainable manner — no matter if you are a 3rd world national with only a 3rd world passport like me
- Share the joy of traveling and the joy of doing what I love to do
- Send the message that following one’s passion is always the best choice
.
How do I plan to achieve and accomplish these goals?
- By inspiring people through my life story and travel adventures
- By helping others through my blog articles that will revolve around travel hacks, resources, tips, and more
.
FACT: Given my big life change in 2013 (when I quit my job to travel the world), and after a lot of successful life milestones, I realized that I wanted to share my travel stories to the world as I also try to help others in achieving their traveling dreams. Therefore just last September 5, 2014, I launched iAmAileen.com as a travel blog.
With this establishment of a clear vision for ‘iAmAileen’, I have truly come to love travel blogging! Besides, in such a short span of time after this blog was started, my writings and stories were already being recognized worldwide. As a result, I have since been featured on big websites like National Geographic, Lonely Planet, Cosmopolitan, and more! (To see a list of my media and press exposures, go to this page).
If you want to learn more about how I started this travel lifestyle, you can read about it in my ‘5 Steps to Start a Life of Travel‘ article. Otherwise, you can check the following for the most popular sections on this blog:

As for the readers of my blog, thank you for your continuous support! I couldn’t have made it this far without you guys. ♥ As always, if you ever have any questions, please feel free to message me since I always try to reply to each and every one of you!

Hi, Aileen. . . I am starting a new blog with my own domain name. I used to have a blog in blogspot. Some of the posts there are special to me and I want to keep it in my new blog. What do you recommend? Should I or should I not? And how did you do the redirecting thing from your old blog to the new one? Thanks.
If you really want to become serious about blogging, I suggest that you convert to wordpress.org now :) If you need help in starting up your blog, read my post here: https://iamaileen.com/how-to-start-a-travel-blog-from-scratch-ultimate-guide/ And then there’s a tutorial here that discusses in detail how you can migrate from Blogger to WordPress: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-switch-from-blogger-to-wordpress-without-losing-google-rankings/ I hope it helps!
